This week's pillar: Physical

Your body is not behind. You are measuring it against a deadline you made up.

Hey, Glow Getter,

Somewhere along the way, most of us picked up the idea that healing has a schedule. That if we do the right things consistently enough, change will arrive on time, in the order we expected, and in amounts we can measure.

And when it does not, we do not question the schedule. We question ourselves.

I have talked to so many women who are doing genuinely good work. They are moving their bodies more intentionally. They are eating with more awareness. They are sleeping better, drinking more water, showing up for themselves in ways they never used to. And yet they sit across from me feeling like failures because they are not where they thought they would be by now.

By now. That phrase does a lot of damage.

The body does not heal on a calendar. It heals in layers. Some of those layers are visible and feel like progress. Others are happening beneath the surface in ways you cannot see or measure, and they are often the most important work of all… The nervous system quietly recalibrating. The gut slowly rebalancing. The inflammation that built up over years beginning, finally, to ease.

None of that shows up in a before and after photo. None of it fits neatly into a progress update. But it is real, and it is happening, and it counts.

The shift I want to offer you this week is this: what if you are not behind at all? What if you are exactly where your body needs you to be, and the only thing making it feel like failure is the imaginary deadline you are holding yourself to?

Healing is not slow. We are just impatient with a process that was never meant to be rushed.

Your body has been carrying you your entire life. It deserves a little more grace than a deadline.

This week's gentle anchor

This week, every time you catch yourself thinking "I should be further along by now," pause and ask one question instead:

Where was I one year ago, and what has quietly shifted since then?

The answer almost always tells a different story than the one your impatience is telling you right now.

This week's self-care ritual

The Progress You Cannot See Journal Prompt

Find a quiet moment this week, grab your journal or even just the notes app on your phone, and sit with these prompts. Write whatever comes. There are no wrong answers.

What is one way my body is different today than it was a year ago, even if it is small?

What is one habit or choice I am making now that I was not making before?

Where did I get the deadline I am holding myself to, and does it actually belong to me?

If my body could speak to me right now, what would it ask me for?

You do not have to solve anything or arrive anywhere with this. Just let yourself see what is already there. That seeing is its own form of healing.

I will be back in your inbox next Tuesday. Until then, give your body the grace it has always given you.

With warmth,

Dee D
